For the first time in team history, the West Lady Dragons raced in the Ed Murphey Classic 5 x 1k High School relay race last night at Rhodes College. As you would imagine, they were intimidated and extremely nervous to race against high school teams, but that all changed when the race started. Last night, they showed off! 11 teams were registered in the High School Division, and with that, the West Lady Dragons took 1st place. Gabs Gulstrom kicked off the 5 member relay team, followed by Augusta Bogda, Amaya Edwards, Audrey Meier and ended with an exciting finish with Maya Lang. This was a huge boost for this team as they start the XC season. The team kicks off the regular season at the Jackson Jamboree in Jackson Tennessee next weekend.
