The future is certainly bright for the Collierville Dragons girls' basketball program. For the first time, Collierville Schools had both middle schools play for the TMSAA Municipal Schools Regional Championship. The West Collierville Middle girls prevailed 45-13 over a Collierville Middle School girls' team that had struggles scoring in the second half. CMS had the upset over Arlington and a win against Bon Lin to reach the title game. West Collierville cruised in the tournament with victories over Riverdale, Elmore Park, and now against their friendly rivals at CMS.
Both teams will advance to the TMSAA Sectional Championships, starting Saturday, at Havenview Middle School. CMS will play in the tournament's opening game against Snowden at 11am on January 29th. West Collierville received a first round bye and will play the winner of Cordova and Colonial, 6pm, on January 31st.
After the game, the two teams posed for a One Town, Own School, Everyone A Dragon photo.
