West Collierville Middle School’s Uzoamaka Iwuji delivered a championship performance at the TSSAA Middle School 3A Track & Field State Championships on Monday, claiming 1st place in the Girls Shot Put with a winning throw of 38 feet, 6.5 inches.
Iwuji’s mark topped a highly competitive field and solidified her place as the state’s top middle school shot putter in Class 3A.

All seven podium finishers surpassed 34 feet, showcasing one of the deepest and most competitive shot put fields in the state.
The top three throwers were separated by just over a foot, emphasizing the high level of competition.
Iwuji’s winning mark of 38-6.5 proved decisive, outdistancing the runner-up by more than a foot.
Iwuji’s state championship adds to an already strong track and field tradition at West Collierville Middle School and represents another outstanding achievement for Collierville Schools athletics.
