West Collierville Middle School’s Maya Lang delivered a remarkable performance at the 2024 TMSAA Cross Country State Championship in Clarksville, capturing the individual state title and solidifying her place among the top middle school runners in Tennessee.
Lang had been a dominant force throughout the 2024 season. Race after race, she demonstrated the ability to control the pace, compete with confidence, and finish strong against some of the fastest runners in the state. Her consistency and determination made her one of the favorites heading into the championship meet.
At the state championship in Clarksville, Lang rose to the occasion on the biggest stage of the season. Lining up against the best middle school runners from across Tennessee, she ran a smart and aggressive race from the start. Positioning herself near the front of the pack early, Lang steadily built momentum as the race unfolded.
As the runners approached the final stages of the course, Lang made her move. Showing the strength and composure she had displayed all season, she surged ahead and separated herself from the competition, ultimately crossing the finish line as the 2024 TMSAA Individual State Champion.
